A&E Network’s acclaimed documentary television series filmed for 3 seasons in New Orleans returns! Up until now, the series followed the overnight shifts of first responders from the Police, Fire and EMS departments. For upcoming seasons, A&E has decided to reformulate the series, focusing solely on EMS. The goal is to go more in-depth in the stories medical emergency calls and highlight the heroic work of EMS workers on the front lines in the wake of a national pandemic.

The series, produced by 44 Blue Productions (Lockup, The True Story of Black Hawk Down, Pit Bulls & Parolees) and Dick Wolf (Law & Order, Chicago Fire) will continue to chronicle the heroism and sacrifice of those on the front lines, the EMTs and paramedics who have dedicated their careers to saving lives and helping their communities, from on-scene to hospital transport. Our cameras will follow these brave individuals on the job, showing the world their selfless acts of valor and the lives they touch every single day, for all types of medical emergencies. We’d also look to film actual moments in the call center when emergency calls are received and dispatched. Our crews have built a strong reputation for respecting and understanding department policies, procedures and safety protocol.

Each hour-long episode will be framed against the overnight shift, illustrating the round-the-clock endeavors of undaunted first responders in New Orleans, highlighting the EMS stories, people and the city itself.
